It seems that blogger likes me to only use this blog. I originally started it as a family site, but that fell to the wayside. I am guessing that since I don’t have a choice in the matter, this will be my everyday blog.

I enjoy reading everyone’s reviews at the end of the month. They inspire me. I do like the blogs throughout the month also.

We are still having rain pretty much every day. Today or Monday the stats will be out regarding June’s rainfall. At the end of May, we already has 306% more rain than normal. There is a saying about corn. If the corn is knee high by July 4th, the crop will be good. In the fields I saw yesterday, the corn is only about 4” high. Good thing we grow mostly silage corn in this area. We are stuck in some kind of pattern. We have had only 1 day where the temperature was above 30C. For sure a cool summer. Very few people have been able to put vegetable gardens in and the fruit will probably be split from the rain. There are a few growers here that grow in huge greenhouses. I wonder how they are doing. No notices yet about farmers  markets. The strawberries should be about ready but few growers will have a crop. Such is the circle of life.

I am on vacation for six days. I hope to finish organizing my place. I also want to spend some time outside reading. We shall see. I have changed my diet to a more plant based one. Where I work has influenced me and I notice over the many years Many of us have changed our diets. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy a beef steak, pork chop or chicken. Just not as much.

I am a lady who is closer to 70 than 60. I still work as I like to keep my brain active. My target date for retirement is fourteen months. We will see. I recently felt like I was loosing my mind. Turns out it is an issue with my heart. It is a condition that is reversible and is one that ladies get but men not so much. I feel so much better about it now.

I live in a small town in an apartment. I prefer the country to the city. The quiet, many more birds, great neighbours. It suits me well. My daughter would like me to move up where she lives. The town is a bit bigger. In the summer and winter there is lots of traffic heading out to cottages, camping, fishing, boating and snowmobiling. We will see what transpires down the road.

This is one of the big ice hills that blow in off of Lake Manitoba when the lake and rivers are breaking up.

These two pictures above are of our favourite lake. It’s hard to think that with all that snow on top and the ice below, that there is still unfrozen lake under there.

Theses two pictures are of Lake Winnipeg. I believe this is in the fall when cabins are more reasonably priced.

This one is one of a hike we do in the nearest Provincial Park. My grandson looking for something to explore. All my grands and kids are outdoorsy people.

That gives a glimpse into my life.
